Well I've had some time to refine the top cell covers. There
will only be slight tweaks from now on to these parts.
This is the first time I have added a preliminary label to the rendering.... Looks pretty good. You might notice that I placed the virtual lighting too far down on the right and there should have been more virtual light on the label. But since it takes me about a half hour to correct things like that, its not worth it for now. Figuring out just how to get the lable near perfect has been more of
a chore than I had thought it would be. As it turns out, there are subtle
changes over time from when the battery was announced in 1929 and to where
the A-600 was revised to the A-2600 in (I think) 1938. The fact that Geoff
Bourne's cut-away model has the two pin socket in addition to the Fahnstock
clips, makes it almost certain that our version dates from 1936/37. What these adverts show are paper labels on the side panels as well!
While there is abundant evidence of a VERY difficult to remove adhesive
on my case for the lable shown in the rendering, there is absolutely no
evidence of adhesive residue on the side panels... |
