RUT1/R1230/UGAR2 transistor-based radio station.
Made in yugoslavia for the Romanian army.

Green colored radio sets (up): RUT1/R1230/UGAR2
Grey radio sets: R123M
RUT1 covers 20.000MHz to 69.975MHz with 250kHz increasing step, Frequency Modulation.
R123M covers frequencies between 20MHz and 51.5MHz in continuous tuning (no steps like RUT1).
R123M with front cover removed.
The glass disk has the scale printed as a photo microfilm (please correct this, I am not sure if the grammar is correct). The scale is then projected on the glass window above.
From the 4 screws in the center, 4 channels with 4 different frequencies can be preset.
In the upper right side there are are the frequency band switches for each of the 4 preset channels.
A defective squelch pot is hanging in upper left side.
Closer look on the defective squelch pot. Anyone familiar with soviet technology can easily fix it.
Squelch pot with cover removed. Cursor holding is broken. It can be fixed by pressing it on the shaft using a pair of pliers, then deforming the end of the shaft so nothing will jump out again.
Squelch pot reassembled
Antenna tuning rod (colored in red) and the mechanical memory with metal claws.
Tuning scale projection window. The light passes through the microfilm (on the glass disk).

R123M transmission stage, 2 x GU50 vacuum tubes, the equivalents of the german LS50.
R-123M: Closer look on block no. 7 (see documentation on Wireless Set no19 yahoo group) - screened subminiature vacuum tubes.
Headphones used by soldiers inside tanks. Yugoslavian made. The black box holds the "UK-8" Tx/Rx/intercom switches.
RUT1/R1230/UGAR2 yugoslavian transistor radio set, cover removed, upped side.
Cover removed, back side.
Bottom side.
Front side.
Front side, the programming module removed.
Programming module, 10 channels pre-set with plots.
Bottom view of the programming module.
Programming with plots:
The back side holds the first two digits.
For example, 27.225Mhz is made out of 5 digits.
2 and 7 are set on the back side (unseen here).
2 and 25 are set on this side.
The first row is the CB channel 22, but here we can see only 2 and 25.
First column is used to chose one of these digits, from these two sets:
0,1,2,3,4
OR
5,6,7,8,9
The second column specifies which of these sets can be chosen.
In this case (first row - either 2 or 7; second row specifies that it is "2".
Third row sets the digits "25".
This radio station can be successfully used in CB band but - because of these restricting programming features
it is limited to the channels ending in ".25" and ".75".
Warning: this radio set exceed the 4 watts CB transmitting power limit specified by international laws,
so it must be limited from the upper-right switch on front cover - it must be switched to "MIN".
